APSAA was established in a meeting held on October 6th, 1992, at Karachi, when a few private security companies joined hands to form a common platform, with a view to looking after the welfare of their employees, create awareness among masses about the importance of security and safe guard the business interest through effective lobbying with all levels of government functionaries. The security companies participating passed the criteria for membership and prepared a broad outline of constitution for the Association. Its Head Office was opened in Karachi.
